When you live in lakes country, you don't really need a reason to celebrate.
But we came up with some anyways.
Celebrations are simply in our blood. We love gathering people for simply no reason at all sometimes. Here are just a few of our major festivals and events throughout the year. We'd love for you to join us!
In April, the Perham Area Chamber hosts the annual Chamber Choice Awards Banquet where we celebrate local citizens and businesses that have done amazing things for our community.
In June, the community comes together to host the annual Turtle Fest. It is a series of events, including Turtle Races, a Grand Parade, Live Music, a Rodeo and more!
In July, we celebrate our independence along with the rest of the nation. Fourth of July Fireworks are always on display at Krueger Field after the Perham Pirates game.
We also gather in the name of BBQ with our very own version of Rib Fest. At the Rib Cook Off, we gather cookers from around the area for a little friendly competition.
July also brings the East Otter Tail County Fair to town. Like any county fair, it brings along a demo derby, a carnival, 4-H demonstrations, a children's barn, and of course, Fair Food!
In November, the day after Thanksgiving to be exact, we have our annual Holiday Parade of Lights. Organizations get together to light up the streets of Perham to kick off the holiday season.
These are just a few of the many different festivals and celebrations in the area.
